The product contains 175 mg of L-Histidine in each serving as this is an essential amino acid (meaning it must be consumed in the diet, and cannot be made in adequate quantities by the body). Therefore, it will always be present in any elemental diet formula. If you don’t get it in your diet, your body will catabolize its muscle to get enough. While histidine does get converted to histamine, the fact is, a person would make way more histamine that is released from mast cells than they would consume through the diet, so it is really unlikely to be a problem. There are no other histamine containing ingredients in the diet itself.
