Does this product work for fungal overgrowth (SIFO)? Does it feed candida?Updated a month ago

A recent study presented at ACG 2025 showed that mBIOTA does not induce fungal overgrowth when assessed in vitro and that after 2 weeks of mBIOTA the levels of Candida albicans present in patients' stool samples from our clinical trial were significantly reduced (by 3.3 fold). Additionally, none of the patients in our 2023 Clinical Trial developed thrush while on mBIOTA Elemental.  If you are predisposed to oral thrush, you may consider rinsing your mouth with an oral saline rinse, as needed between servings.

Ultimately, it's always best to consult your health care provider about your individual needs and diagnosis. However, it would not be contraindicated to combine the elemental diet with a prescription anti-fungal if fungal overgrowth is of significant concern. This is ultimately up to your health care provider to decide whether or not to prescribe.
